Margaret Lorene Crawley, born on June 12, 1933, in Davidson County, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on April 6, 2026. A woman of remarkable spirit and warmth, Margaret’s life was a testament to the enduring strength of love, faith, and family.
From an early age, Margaret was deeply connected to her faith, attending church services at Front Street Disciples of Christ Christian Church and later at the Nazarene Church of Victoria. Her devotion was a guiding light in her life, and she lovingly shared this passion with her children, often reading the Bible and Bible stories to them during their early years, nurturing in them a profound love of God.
Margaret was a simple country girl with a heart as vast as the open skies she grew up under. Known for her spunky nature, she stood firmly for what was right and for herself, embodying resilience and grace. Her home was always filled with the irresistible aroma of home-cooked meals, especially her treasured candies and freshly baked bread, which she joyfully prepared for friends and family. These moments of gathering, nourishment, and laughter were where she found immense joy.
Her passion for life was as vibrant as her personality. Two of her favorite pastimes included watching NASCAR races on television, a thrilling spectacle she followed with enthusiasm, and immersing herself in novels and books, opening windows to worlds beyond her own.
Margaret’s greatest treasure was her family. She radiated love and warmth towards her children—Nancy Roberts (Jeff), Jo Anne Stegall, Michael Crawley, and Deborah Hackett. Her devotion extended deeply to her grandchildren: Sebrena Norton, Brent Jackson, Michael Roberts (Tiffany), Ryan Simpson (Dee), Olivia Furner (Tyler), Kayley Atkins (Jr.), Anthoney Jackson Jr., Corina Morton (Wesley), Ashley Wilson (Chaz), Renee Braxton (Robert), Matt Brown (Sherry), Stephen Hackett (Mary), and Christopher Hackett (Olivia). She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to seven beloved children, with another precious great-grandchild on the way. Her sisterly bonds were cherished with Rachel Weaver, Patsy Scott, Ruby Martin, and Mae Bishop.
Margaret’s journey was intertwined with the memories of those who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, Richard Crawley; her parents, Fredrick Roland Link and Annie Lenore Hill Link; her grandson Clay DeGrant; and her siblings Pete Link, Johnny Link, and Louise Weaver. Their memories remain forever part of her story, woven into the hearts of those she loved.
A visitation to honor Margaret’s life will be held on April 13, 2026, from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215. This will be followed by the funeral service from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the same location. Subsequently, the burial will take place at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Margaret Lorene Crawley’s spirit leaves behind a radiant legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to family. Though she has departed from this world, her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Through her stories, her laughter, and her steadfast faith, Margaret’s light remains bright in the hearts she touched so deeply.
