Mrs. Margaret Manus Fields, 70, of 1819 Lower Hopedale Rd., went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at her home after a year of failing health. A native of Jefferson, GA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Manus and the late Demay Smallwood Manus and was married for over 55 years to John L. Fields, who survives. She was retired from General Electric and was a very loving wife, mother and Me Maw. Mrs. Fields is survived by her husband of the home; a grandson, Timothy Chad Fields of the home; four daughters, Teresa Howell and her husband, Bobby, of Elon, Kathy Kimrey and her husband, Ray, of Burlington, Sheila Seamster and her husband, David, of Burlington and Deborah Davis and her husband, Bobby, of Snow Camp; a son, Ernest Bo Fields and his wife, Katie, of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Mark Fields; a great grandchild, Dalton Ivey; and a sister, Clara Nell Lucas. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bennie Smith and Pastor Delmar Scotton. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home.
