Margaret Lay Geise

Haw River

Margaret D. Lay Geise, 70 entered her heavenly home on June 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Her actual life with Jesus began on this earth at age 13 when she met her Saviour.

Margaret was married to a very special man, James E. Geise for 33 years. Together over 5 years, they fostered 15 children. She also worked as an RN mostly in Pediatrics for 39 years. Her love for children has always been present in her life. She and Jim were members of New Bridge Church where they worshiped and fellowshipped with other believers in Christ.

Surviving other than her husband are his wonderful children, Bradley Geise of Burlington, NC, Bryan Geise (Amanda) of Connersville, IN and Bethanie Steele of Burlington, NC.

She was blessed with 8 sweet grandkids, Brice, Jennifer, Bryan James, Kaitlyn, James Tyler, Abygail, Lillian and Hayes as well as 4 great grandkids, Noah, Ellis, Leo and Gunner. Her siblings Alice Schmitt of Kendallville, IN, Marilyn Neal (Phillip) of Centerville, IN, Albert Lay Jr. (Jane) of Cambridge City IN and Becky Ullery of Kettering, OH were all very special to her as were the 13 nieces and nephews they sweetly shared with her, John, Lisa, Jennifer, Phyllis, Patrick, Nikole, Adam, Joshua, Amy Christina, Tim, Donald and Dennis; other survivors include Jim’s siblings Mike (Nola) Geise, Kathy (Ron) Yoder and their children.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Hisle)Lay; in-laws, Dale and Barbara Geise and Alice Geise.

Many special memories in her life occurred with Jim (fresh snow, ice skating, never-ending waves, unbelievable rainbows, breathtaking fall colors, working and playing with children)

A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Scott London and pastor Mike Melvin. The inurnment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service on Wednesday and at other times at the home.

The family will like to say a special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff of Authoracare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

Memorials may be made to New Bridge Church, 1308 S. 3rd Street, Mebane, NC 27302 and Authoracare Collective Hospice , 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
