Maria Kandounas Fincher

Maria Kandounas Fincher, 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. She was the daughter of the late George Michael and Mary Hartness Kandounas. She was the wife of the late William Clinton Fincher, Jr.

Maria retired from AT & T and was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Elon University. Maria enjoyed good food and watching cooking shows on TV. She worked for several years as a Travel Planner, specializing in Cruises. She enjoyed jazz dancing and ballet and was also a dance instructor. Her hobbies included cross stitch and vegetable and flower gardening. Maria was a caregiver for her mother for many years and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria Lynne Fincher Scott and Candace Lane Fincher; granddaughters, Kayleigh Lynne Scott, Brittany Star Crumpler, and Jordan Noel Carden; her sister, Linda K. Humphries and husband, Thomas Philip. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Alexandra K. Turner.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00am Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by hospice chaplain, Rev. Darnell Ranger. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service at the funeral home.
