Julian

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marshall Lee Greeson Sr., age 77, of Julian, North Carolina who went home on March 2, 2026. He was surrounded by family and those who loved him most. He passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of steady love, hard work, and the quiet, simple joys that made his life so meaningful.

Marshall was born on October 21, 1948, to Ralph Burton Greeson Sr. and Ruth Greeson. He was raised in Julian, North Carolina alongside seven brothers and sisters, on the family farm where tobacco, corn, and wheat were more than crops, they were a way of life. Long days in the fields taught him early what it meant to work hard, keep your word, and take care of what’s yours. Those lessons shaped the man he became- strong, dependable, humble, and resilient.

That same work ethic carried him into adulthood where he built a respected career as a gifted painter and carpenter, creating beautiful work that reflected both his skill and heart. His craftsmanship reflected the same strength and reliability that defined his character. Above all else, Marshall was a family man. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved most and was a steady, reassuring presence in their lives. His warmth and sense of humor filled every room with laughter. Whether he was sharing morning coffee, watching classic westerns, working in the barn, planting the family garden, or carefully tending to his yard, he found joy in life’s simple, everyday moments.

He is survived by his children Wendy Greeson of Burlington, Lee Greeson and wife, Isabel of Mebane, Travis Greeson of Burlington, Aaron Greeson of Julian, Taylor Merica and husband, Austin of Gibsonville; his grandchildren David, Cody, Magan, Jamie Lee, Talon, Dawton, Isley, Lennon, Iris, and one precious grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his siblings Gwen Hall and husband, Robert of Burlington, Bonnie Thompson of Julian, and Ralph Burton (RB) Greeson Jr and wife, Bonnie of Liberty.

Though our hearts ache deeply in his absence, we find comfort in the thought that he is once again in the company of Ralph Burton Greeson Sr., Ruth Greeson, Earl Dean Greeson, Weldon Greeson, Priscilla Lowe, and Cindy Clapp.

Marshall will be remembered for his gentle humor, his unwavering loyalty to his family, and the quiet comfort of knowing he was always there. His legacy lives on in the stories told around coffee tables, in the scent of freshly cut grass, in blooming gardens, and in the strong hands and steady hearts of the family he raised. Marshall’s life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and finding joy in the simple blessings of each day. He leaves behind a family who will carry his strength and love forward for generations to come.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, from 5:00- 7:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Mount Hope United Church of Christ officiated by Rev. Kristen Gerner-Vaughn and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home at other times
