Martha Naomi Butler Parker

Martha Naomi Butler Parker, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026 at the age of 100. “Na” as she was called by family and friends was a beloved member of the Butler family of Caswell County.

She grew up on a large farm in the Cherry Grove Community and graduated from Anderson High School. She attended Greensboro College and then transferred to Catawba College and graduated with a degree in business. While at Catawba College she met the love of her life, Boyd Artis Parker Jr., and they were married June 5, 1947, and had their only child Karyn Lynn Parker in December 1948.

Na and Ace, as he was called due to his athletic abilities, lived and worked in Burlington, N.C. before moving to Asheboro, N.C. in 1963. They both joined the Mid State Box Company where they worked and lived happily for a number of years before retiring and moving to Arizona to be near their daughter Karyn and granddaughters Kristin and Jennifer. Later they were joined by three great granddaughters, Ashlyn and McKenzie Litaker and Chandler Cilk.

Na is survived by her daughter, Karyn Parker; granddaughters, Kristin and Jennifer; great granddaughters, Ashlyn and McKenzie Litaker; beloved sister, Shirley Compton; devoted brother, Melvin Butler and wife Mary, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is united in spirit with her husband Boyd Artis Parker “Ace”; parents Eugene Stokes Butler and Florence Iona Saunders Butler; great granddaughter Chandler Cilk; sisters, Brenda Serns, Lois Aldridge, Frances Page, Doris Byrd, Ruby Swift, Elma Somers, and Alene Paschal; brother, Connie Mack Butler “Tony”.

Martha Naomi Butler Parker will be remembered for her love, kindness and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. The legacy of faith, family and friendship will inspire those who knew her.
