Summerfield, Florida - Mary Elizabeth Sissy Boggs Berry, 77, of 10602 SE 179th Lane, Florida, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at her home. She was a native of Alamance County, NC , and the daughter of the late Gurney F. and Gracie Christopher Boggs. She was the wife of the late Leonard Ray "John" Berry for 59 years. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Belleview in Florida. Being a retail buyer for major corporations on the West Coast, her work took her around the world as she opened new doors for other women in this industry. While balancing her career, she still managed to raise a family and maintain a beautiful home. Survivors include her daughters, Glenda A. Berry of the home, Sarah L. McPherson of Burlington; son, Leonard R. Berry, Jr. of Lomita, CA.; grandchildren, Edith Arlette Jennings, Clayton Samuel Paul, Jessica Mary McPherson, Rebekah Lee McPherson, Jonathan Scott McPherson, Michelle Nicole Berry, and Tanya Elizabeth Berry; great grandchildren, Clayton Cheyenne Paul and Ava Leigh Paul; sisters; Patricia Ann Rhodes of VA, Barbara Jean Graves of Mebane, Betty Lou Martin of Gibsonville, a brother; Earl Boggs of Snow Camp, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Raymond Douglas Boggs, Wayne Jackson Boggs, and a sister Clara Lee Boggs. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 11:00am at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and other times at the home of the daughter, Sarah L. McPherson, 2410 Wimbledon Circle, Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at lowefh@bellsouth.net.
