Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Raynor Guthrie, 81, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Lib was born on September 24, 1939 in Bladen County, NC to the late Floyd Wellington and Mary Eliza Hammond Raynor.

Lib retired from Honda Power Equipment as a supervisor. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lib was an inspiration for anyone who met her.  She loved to work in the yard.  Lib loved to play the guitar and sing gospel music.  She has an unmatchable love for her family, friends and her Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Morel Guthrie of the home; daughters:  Margaret Elizabeth Guthrie and husband, Ricky of Burlington, and Bonnie Wrenn Stanley and husband, Johnny of Four Oaks; son, Howard B. Terry and wife, Marcia of Burlington; sister, Shelby Warwick and husband, Henry of Fayetteville; brothers:  Edward Raynor and wife, Jo Ann of Georgia, and Roscoe Raynor and wife, Kitty of Dublin; grandchildren: Jason Guthrie, Brian Guthrie, Matthew Guthrie, Laura Lee, Tyler Tharp, Bryton Somers, Haley Terry, Michael Stanley, Drew Wright, Hayden Wright, and Noah Wright; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Lib’s was preceded in death by her son, Charles Henry Tharp; and siblings: Frank Raynor, John Raynor, Margorie R. Wright, Eunice R. Smith, David Raynor, and Fran Gonda.

A Service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Olin Tatum and Rev. Gary Loftis.  Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  Public viewing will be Thursday, December 10 at Lowe Funeral Home from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM and Friday, December 11 from 8:00 AM till 1:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to AuthoraCare, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.  A special thank you to Stacey Guthrie for her loving and constant care during Lib’s illness. Also would like to give a special thanks to Marcia Terry for the love shown during times of need.
