Mary King

Burlington - Mary Elizabeth Cheek King, 92, of 1034 Grace Ave. died on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Alamance County, daughter of the late Ervin Sherra Cheek and the late Nannie Overman Cheek. She retired from Western Electric after 30 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a former member of Davis Street United Methodist Church and the Humane Society. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Elizabeth King of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Annie Grace Cheek, Hallie Mae Cheek, Allene Marie Cheek and Frances Heller and a brother, Louis Henry Cheek. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Sasser officiating. There will be no visitation.
