Mary Szadek

Mrs. Mary Ann Dawkins Szadek, age 69, of 2680 S. Mebane St., died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, she was the daughter of the late John Edgar Dawkins and the late Mary Louise Wilson Dawkins and was married to the late Louis Szadek. She was a retired bookkeeper and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Szadek is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Smith and her husband, Herbert, of Hillsborough and Darlene Keyton of Graham; two grandsons, Tyler Smith and Cameron Smith; and a sister, Connie Kasprowicz of Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Johnson. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Cedar Ridge Retirement Center by Bishop Larry C. May. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the Szadek family.
