Burlington, NC Mary Elizabeth Williams, age 65 passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Edward Jerome and Elvie Tate Williams. Elizabeth retired as an English teacher with the Alamance-Burlington School System. She was a member of the Common Woman Chorus in Durham. Elizabeth loved academics devoting her life to teaching and was a loving and loyal daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her sister, Rebecca Williams King of Burlington; nephews and spouses, Jonathan and Ashley King of South Carolina and Jason and Amy King of South Carolina; great nieces and nephews, Alex King, Elizabeth Tate King, Grayson King, Olivia King, Jordan Vaden and spouse, Chris, Zack King, Nick King and Noah King; great great nephew, Conell Vaden; her spirited cat, "Stella"; special friends, Lynn and Ja Antequera, Joan McAllister, Janie MacNella, Mike Young, Melva Foster and others to numerous to mention. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at 5:00pm Monday, January 7, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, Rebecca King.
