Melvin Leo Bud Williams, age 72, of 619 Rolling Road went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 51 years to Ann Forehand Williams who survives. Bud retired from Burlington Industries, Williamsburg Plant and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar Fan and he collected old gospel songs transferring them from LPs to Cassettes and CDs. Survivors include his wife, Ann Forehand Williams of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Busick of Reidsville, Doris Laase of El Paso, Texas, Nellie and Wayne Barbee of Burlington and Ruthie and Frank Rudd of Elon; brothers and sister-in-law, Doug and Johnsie Williams and Darrell Williams both of Elon; special sisters-in-law, Jane Williams of Greensboro and Ruby Bryant of Deland, Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, David Allen Williams and Mark Stephen Williams; parents, Porter Isaiah and Ida Bell Lynn Williams and a brother, J. P. Williams. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Altamahaw Baptist Church by Rev. Walter Jones and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Altamahaw Baptist Church, C/O The Building Fund, 3447 Altamahaw Church Street, Elon, NC 27244.
