Merle Austin

Merle Hill Pete Austin, 95, of Hyde St. died on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Iredell County to the late Thomas and Beatrice B. Hill and was married to the late Ernest H. Austin. She retired from Rexham Corporation in Charlotte, was former president of the P.B.X. Club of NC and was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son, Ernest Hampton Austin, Jr. of Burlington; granddaughters, Dea Austin of Gaston, SC, Micki Richard Wells of Liberty and Angee Austin of Graham; great grandchildren, Tyler Simpson, Natalie Austin and Ethan Wells. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Mitchell. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northside Presbyterian Church, 1805 Vaughn Rd., Burlington, NC 27217 or to Hospice and Palliative of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
