Obituary

Michael Paul Cigalotti, born October 22, 1960, in Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a brave battle with cancer. A dedicated professional and a cherished member of his community, Michael’s life was marked by service, commitment, and a passion for technology and adventure.

Michael devoted 47 years to aircraft maintenance, a career defined by precision, reliability, and an unwavering work ethic. His expertise and dedication earned him respect and admiration within the aircraft community. In addition to his civilian career, Michael proudly served as a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a testament to his devotion to his country and his willingness to serve with honor.

Michael was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Hillsborough, NC, where his faith played a significant role in his life. Outside of his professional and spiritual commitments, he had a deep love for motorcycles—both riding and maintaining them. He found joy in trips to the beach, immersing himself in books, and keeping current with the latest advances in technology, reflecting a lifelong curiosity and zest for learning.

Michael’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, MaryAnn Gaita Cigalotti, who stood by his side through the years. Together, they shared a blended family that included six children, Rachel Baldwin (and husband Clay), Jessica Cigalotti (and wife Alisha), Steven Marsh (and wife Danielle), Lauren Cigalotti, Kristen Cigalotti (and husband Elliott), and Michael Cigalotti (and wife Krislyn). Michael was a proud grandfather to Alexa Grace Baldwin, Emerie Rose Cigalotti, and Jaxten Ray Grier, all of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanmarie Lupkawski; brothers Peter Cigalotti (and wife Debbie) and Brian Cigalotti; along with several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. Michael was predeceased by his beloved parents, Peter Mario Cigalotti and Jean Seegmiller Cigalotti, and his brother Wayne Cigalotti.

Michael Paul Cigalotti’s life was one of diligent service and personal passion. His legacy endures through the family he nurtured and the values he embodied, exemplifying professionalism, loyalty, and a love for life. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew him.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NC.  The family will be hosting a reception at his daughter's residence following the mass.
