Nancy Carol Wilson Gilbert

Nancy was a waitress for many years at Dottie’s Starlite Grill. She was a member of Glencoe Baptist Church, she enjoyed fishing, working in her flowers and most of all she loved her animals.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Dodson; a son, Tommy Dodson; her grandchildren, Lee Dodson, Heather Williamson and husband Bruce, Elizabeth Whitfield, Shannon Whitfield and Jonathan Whitfield; great grandchildren, Cassie Williamson, Taylor Dodson, Ashlyn Dodson, Tyler Maxwell, and Katelyn Whitfield; sisters, Jean Varner and husband Buzz, Gail Parks and husband Bob, Ann Adams and husband Cliff; a brother, Larry Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companions that she adored, Gretchen and Baby Girl.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a grandson, Brandon Whitfield; a sister, Flora Wilson and her brothers, Jerry, Frankie and Jimmy Wilson.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Glencoe Baptist Church by Pastor Darrell Massey with the burial to follow at Haw River Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 1:45pm Sunday prior to the service and other times at the daughter, Susan’s home.
