Nancy Carol Phillips Faucette

     It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Nancy Carol Phillips Faucette.  She was 87 years old and passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Twin Lakes Community after several years of declining health. 

     She was an immensely loved Mother, Maw Maw, Aunt, Great Grandmother, Sister-in-Law and Friend. Her passing leaves behind many grieving hearts. Nancy’s strength, resilience and fortitude were beyond belief. Nancy was born at Duke Hospital on June 14, 1938 to Mable Wrenn Phillips and Charlie Cicero Phillips.  She spent almost her entire life as a resident of Haw River. She was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Haw River High School and went on to marry Sam Faucette, also known affectionally as “Bud”.  Bud and Nancy made their home in Haw River and raised four children there.  They were married for over 47 years before he passed away in 2006.  Nancy and Bud loved to travel and their adventures took them all over the world.  Nancy was a member of Haw River Christian Church for over 50 years and served in many capacities including Youth Leader, Trustee and Deaconess.  After high school, she attended Burlington Business College.  She had a passion for accounting and continued her education at Alamance Community College and the UNC School of Government.  She retired from the Town of Haw River after 21 years of service, finishing her career as the Assistant Town Manager.  Prior to her illness, she was an active member of the Haw River Senior Citizens as well as the Haw River Historical Association.  She remained great friends with members of her graduating class .  You will never find anyone more proud to be part of the Haw River community than Nancy. 

     In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin Phillips and James Phillips; sisters, Arlies (Sis) Lloyd, Frances Linens and Peggy Jene Phillips; nieces, Paula Lloyd and Karen Annette Johnson; and great granddaughter, Everleigh Rudd.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, wisdom and influence her children  Sam Faucette and wife, Vicky, of Burlington, Tim Faucette and wife, Diane, of Haw River, Karla Faucette Robbins and husband, John, of Graham and Kelley Faucette Dixon and husband, Darren, of Graham; seven grandchildren, Kim Drews, Adam Rudd and wife, Brittany, Isaac Faucette and wife, Brandy, Jacob Faucette and wife, Amanda, Alex Rudd, Phillip Robbins and Fiancé, Callie Walters, and Nathan Robbins and wife, Caroline; nine great grandchildren, Summer Rudd, Savannah Drews, Raegan Faucette, Graham Rudd, Grayson Faucette, River Rudd, Cole Rudd, Kennedy Faucette and Knox Robbins; and her “Favorite Nephew” Steve Lloyd and wife, Adriana; along with numerous extended family members. 

     The family wishes to express our most sincere gratitude to the care staff at Twin Lakes Community, who helped us be able to cherish the final few months of her life.  This time with her was priceless.  The staff, residents and their families will always hold a special place in our hearts. 

     A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Lamb’s Chapel, Haw River Campus (former Haw River Chrisitan Church), 415 Roxboro Road, Haw River.  It will be officiated by Pastor Walter Jones.  Interment will be at Phillips Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service at the church. Other times, the family will receive visitors at the home of Sam and Vicky Faucette, 1660 Cappoquin Way, Burlington. 

     Memorials to honor Nancy may be made to Phillps Chapel Memorial Association at 2360 Brucewood Road, Haw River, NC 27258.
