Noah Edward Ed Pratt, 81, of Turner Smith Rd, passed away Thursday January 11, 2007 at Duke University Medical Center after a brief illness. Born May 18, 1925 at Hindman Kentucky, he was the son of the late O.W. Pratt and Bonnie Amburgey Pratt. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; Truby Pratt, Sherril Pratt, Morris Pratt, and Jean Pratt Gregory. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 of years of service as a tail gunner on a B-24 during the war and later as a mechanic. He served during WWII, and the Korean War. He received several medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was a Christian man and member of Apples Chapel Christian Church in Gibsonville. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Cobb Pratt, a son, E.J Edward Pratt ; a sister, Jewel Pratt Jones of West Alexandria, OH. The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Apples Chapel Christian Church with Rev. C. Allen Myers III officiating. Interment will follow with full Military honors in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at Apples Chapel Christian Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
