Oretha Hobgood Isley, 82, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Hospice Home. Mrs. Isley was born December 6, 1927 in Oxford, NC to the late John and Madaline Connell Hobgood and was the wife of the late Charlie Wesley Isley. Oretha retired after 30 years of service from textiles and from her and her husband's business Isley Fuel Service. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sunday school and the Ladies Fellowship. Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Haith and her husband, David, Jr. of Mebane, and Lynn McGee and her husband Jerry of Snow Camp; A son, Randy J. Isley and his wife Bonnie of Orlando, Fl; five grandchildren, Wesley McGee, Jay Isley, Kristi Northcott, Phillip Isley, and Sara Smith; five great grandchildren; a sister, Ella Gray Mayse of Chapel Hill. Mrs. Isley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her two brothers, Bill Hobgood and John Frank Hobgood. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delton Agnor. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at there homes.
