Pamela “Pam” Sue Mabrey Temple, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Born on April 23, 1942, in Burlington, North Carolina, she was a cherished daughter of Ralph Victor Mabrey and Ruby Irene Carroll Mabrey. Pam's life spanned an incredible journey filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and faith.
Pam is survived by her beloved husband Carl Leslie Temple, with whom she shared 56 years and her adoring children, Sue McLamb of Rock Hill, SC, Lisa Temple of Burlington, NC, engaged to Jay Lee, Carlton Temple of Gibsonville, NC, who is married to Jillene Younger, and step-daughter, Connie Temple of Burlington, NC. Each child carried a piece of Pam's heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Pam took immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Melissa, Kevin, Jacob, Tyler, Charles, and Ivy, along with three great-grandchildren, James, Luke, and Waylon. Pam is also survived by her twin sister, Jane Allred, who resides in New Bern, NC, as well as a large, loving extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ralph Victor Mabrey Sr. and Ruby Irene Carroll Mabrey; her brother, Ralph "Bill" Victor Mabrey Jr., and her beloved sons-in-law, Troy Foskey and Tommy McLamb.
As a homemaker, Pam dedicated her life to nurturing her family, ensuring that her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth and love. She had a wonderful way of encouraging and uplifting those around her, always greeting everyone with a smile and a positive word. Her strong Christian faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those fortunate enough to know her.
Pam had a passion for dancing, enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, and found joy in reading novels, solving word puzzles and practicing calligraphy. These hobbies brought her immense happiness and allowed her to express her vibrant spirit.
A celebration of Pam's life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service and invite all who knew Pam to join in celebrating her remarkable life and the love she shared with everyone. Pam chose to donate her body to the Elon University Anatomical Gift Program, continuing her spirit of giving and generosity.
Donations can be made to Hospice, an organization that provided compassionate care during Pam's final days. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jasmine and Jennifer with Hospice for their incredible support and kindness.
Pamela Sue Mabrey Temple will be dearly missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire generations to come.
