Patricia Kiger Wails

Patricia Kiger Wails, 77, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Atrium Health in High Point. She was born in Forsyth County on June 1, 1949 to the late Laurston Edward and Stella Mae Watson Kiger and was the wife of 28 years to David William Wails, Jr. of the home.

Patricia’s treasure on earth was her family, especially her grandchildren who referred to her as Nana. She loved attending and supporting her grandchildren’s school events and sports and being together with her family for the holidays. She loved music, sang in their choir, and played piano. Patricia enjoyed traveling to places like Alaska, Niagara Falls, cruises to the Caribbean, and numerous beach trips.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Barbara Kiger Gauldin. Survivors include her husband, David; sons, Curtis Vance and wife Trisha of Gibsonville, Garrett Apple and wife Charley of Liberty, Todd Apple and wife-to-be Lindsey of Franklinville; stepsons, John H. O’Bryan and wife Elana, David W. Wails III and Timothy A. Wails; grandsons, Brent Apple and Garin Apple; granddaughters, Alyssa Apple, Kyndall Apple, and Alleigh Morton; seven step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Vogler of Kernersville, Billie Stack of Oak Ridge and a brother, Lee Kiger of Kernersville.

A service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church in McLeansville by Pastor Josh Eller. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380.
