Burlington, NC – Mrs. Pauline Chambers Wells of Chapel Hill Road, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday September 3, 2024. She was 95 years old.
Pauline was the wife of the late Jack Warren Wells and the daughter of the late Jesse Armstead Chambers and Mary Stone Chambers.
Pauline is survived by her loving son, Dr. Keith Warren Wells, and his wife Dr. Nancy Fleming Wells. She also leaves behind a grandson, Keith Warren Wells, Jr. and a granddaughter, Katherine Suzanna Wells.
She is survived by her brother Romie (Daine, dec.) Chambers of Pfafftown, NC. Preceding her in death were sisters Rosa (Pete) Price, Lillie Mae (Roby) Holt, Louvenia (Lester) Bowling and Zella (Al) Parker. Also preceding her in death were brothers James (Gladys) Chambers, William (Etta Mae) Chambers and Jesse Chambers, Jr.
Pauline was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren spending countless hours with them playing, singing, baking cookies, sewing and raising a garden. She especially enjoyed their baseball and soccer games.
Pauline enjoyed her extensive travels and was especially fond of her opportunity to live with Jack on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands; Nekoma, North Dakota and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Pauline was a lifelong learner. After a particularly challenging Depression Era childhood, she achieved various degrees and certifications including Executive Secretarial Services, Bookkeeping, Cosmetology and Real Estate Brokerage. She was the founder of Wells Real Estate which became one of the busier real estate brokerages in Alamance County until her retirement.
Pauline was active in the community as a member of the Eastern Star and the Hospice League of Alamance County. She was also a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
Pauline’s family would like to convey a very special thanks to the staff at The Cascades section of Twin Lakes Retirement Home who made Pauline’s final year exceptional.
Calling hours will be at Lowe Funeral Home on Sunday September 8th from 1:00-2:45 pm followed by a Service at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 pm. Private interment will be held at a later date at Alamance Memorial Park.
