Peggy Horne

Peggy Jean Crowder Horne entered into eternal rest on Saturday at the Hospice Home. A native of Guilford County she was the daughter of the late Burton Emory Crowder and Jeanette Mitchell Crowder Terrell and wife of Donald M. Horne. She was a retired employee of Kernodle Clinic and a member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ. She was a Life Member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 10607, Life Member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 63 and secretary/treasurer of Guys and Dolls Bowling League. Surviving is her husband Donald M. Horne of the home, 2 Sons: Kirk W. Horne of Graham, NC Keith D. Horne of Windsor, VA, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 1 Sister Edith Gilmore of Pittsboro, NC, 2 Step Sisters; Jeanine Faulkner and Sharon Amos both of Graham, NC and 1 Half-brother, Mike Crowder of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Mildred Crowder, sister, Barbara C. Dixon; stepsisters, Cindy Bruner and Brenda Couturier; brothers Lee Crowder, J. B. Crowder, and stepbrother Bill Dennis. Funeral Service will be at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 by Rev. Dace Lewis with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Monday and other times at the home, 405 Collinwood Drive, Burlington, NC.
