Peggy Belcher Joyce

Peggy Belcher Joyce, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Arthur Ray and Dorothy Lee Gerringer Belcher. She was the wife of the late Leland Floyd Joyce who passed in 2017.

Peggy devoted 30 years as a Lab Tech with Carolina Biological. She was a 1956 graduate of Walter Williams High School. Peggy was a lifetime member of Faith Community Church where she served as a Lay Leader for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Women, the Builders Class and the Red Hat club. Peggy enjoyed spending time at her mountain home with her family and quilting.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Howard Joyce and Mark Joyce and wife, Shea all of Elon; grandchildren, Morgan (Curry Hall) Joyce, Chandler Joyce and Abigail Joyce and a great grandson, Stetson Hall; her brother, Larry Belcher and wife, Jerri “Sis” of Burlington and her sister-in-law, Ella Joyce of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Joyce, Husband and parents

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Jackie Harvey and Ella Michael and the nurses and staff of AuthoraCare Hospice for making Peggy’s last days better and more comfortable.

A Funeral service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Faith Community Church by Rev. Joe Seay and Rev. Lee Edwards with the burial to follow at Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
