Peggy Vuncannon Stuart

Peggy Jean Vuncannon Stuart, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 15, 1946 in Guilford County to the late Sanford Allen Vuncannon and Edith Leon Wright Vuncannon, and was the wife of 22 years to Thomas Wayne Stuart who survives.

Peggy retired after 23 years with LabCorp. She enjoyed gardening and swimming in her pool, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors other than her husband, Wayne include her children, Phyllis Terwilliger and husband Mal, Ronda Walker and husband Jimmie, Nicholas Stuart and wife Rachel, Matt Stuart and Jessica VanGilder and husband Chris; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Vuncannon and wife Cathy and Sanford Vuncannon, Jr. and wife Linda; several nieces and nephews.  Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Crowley.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the nurses and staff with the ARMC Cancer Center and the ICU nurses at Alamance Regional Medical Center for all their compassion and loving care that was shown to Peggy during her illness.
