Peter Panther, Sr.

Mebane Peter Michael "Pete" Panther, Sr., 75, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Durham after three months of failing health. He was born in Gastonia, NC to the late Hubbard Norris Panther, Sr. and the late Estelle Virginia Connor Panther. Pete was a US Army Veteran and retired with 22 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post #2 and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his sons, Peter Michael "Pete" Panther, Jr. and wife, Sheliah of Mebane, Erik Norris Panther of Haw River; grandchildren, Tia Panther and Patrick Panther; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubbard and Linda Panther, Jr. of Burlington, John and Pat Panther of Lincolnton. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration Hospital, Voluntary Services, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705. There will be no services. Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Panther Family.
