Polly Smith

Polly Clark Smith died on Tuesday, September 11th at the Hospice Home. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Boatman and Daisy Clark of Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Howard Clark, Viola Leonard, Lauda Matheney, Tommy Clark, Woody Clark, Rueben Clark, Nell Jones and her former husband, John Robert Smith. She is survived by her son, John Randall Smith of Baltimore, MD and his wife, Pam; her daughter, Susan Purdy and her husband, Bill of Jackson, MS, granddaughters, Kathryn Blythe Barton and her husband, Barnes of Houston, TX; Susanna Grey Purdy and her fiance, Mark Davis of Raleigh, NC and great grandchildren, John Burke and Emily Caroline Barton of Houston, TX and her cousin, Rev. Dermont Reid of Burlington, NC. Mrs. Smiths children wish to express gratitude to Dr. Choksi and the hospice staff as well as to Ms. Bonnie Yow, Mrs. Kay Gallant and Mrs. Judith Kiser, their cousins, and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Vestal for the loving care and support shown their mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
