Raymond Rudd

Burlington-Raymond Lee Rudd, 94, passed away due to injuries in an auto accident on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of 72 years to the late Hazeline Perry Rudd.

Raymond retired from Harris Teeter and was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of Powerline Church of the Nazarene. Raymond played semi-pro baseball in his youth. He was an avid golfer and spent many happy hours working in his yard. Raymond in his golden years walked 4 miles everyday even when he had to use a walker. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his son, Mike Rudd and wife, Doris of Haw River; grandchildren, Michael Rudd and Emily Rudd (Alex) Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Jones and Edna Smith Rudd; sisters, Elizabeth Rudd Riley, Nettie Mae Newman and Mary Bryant; brothers, Raleigh and Clyde Rudd.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev Jerry Gardner. The burial will follow at Pine hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 am prior to the service and other times at the home of Mike and Doris Rudd on Trollingwood Road in Haw River.
