Rebecca "Becky" Fogleman Rumley

February 8, 1934 — September 3, 2023

Gibsonville

Rebecca “Becky” Fogleman Rumley, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3rd in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. A native of Guilford County she was the daughter of the late Clinton Dennis and Minnie Esther Moser Fogleman was the wife of the late Carlton Russell Rumley.

From the sandy coast of Big Sur and St. Martin to the rolling hills of Graceland and the highlands of Appalachia, Becky was an avid traveler, seeing an opportunity for adventure in every horizon. In her moments at home, she enjoyed tending to her plants and tending to her loved ones, whether it be going on a shopping trip with the girls, cooking a meal for her family, or wiping the floor with anyone willing to test their fate in a game of cards at game night. She is remembered for her devotion to family who saw her as a firm but fair matriarch, a person to confide in and receive advice from, solicited or not. Her sharp wit, loving nature and zeal for life will never be forgotten, but confirmed and embodied by those lucky enough to know and follow in the legacy she leaves behind.

Becky is survived by her son, Russell Rumley and fiancée, Candy Plumley of Gibsonville and her daughters, Melanie Allen and husband Jimmie of Gibsonville and Lisa Conklin of Elon; grandchildren, Andy (Becky) Conklin of Elon, Geoff Hardy of Roxboro, Kelsey (Matt) Jacobson of Elon and Sydney Rumley (Bailey Fontaine) of Davenport, New York; great grandchildren, JB, Justin, Brent Conklin and Reece Hardy, Madeline Jacobson and Layne Hardy; her brother, Frank Fogleman and wife, Donna of Henderson, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton R. Rumley; parents, C.D. Fogleman and Minnie Esther Moser Fogleman and her siblings, C.D. Fogleman, Blanche Norwood, Dewey Fogleman, Gladys Turner, Mildred Risley, Jimmy Fogleman, Kay Foster and Juanita Wicker.
