Rebecca Ann Moss “Becky” Gilliam, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. A native of Alamance County, she was born August 9, 1941 to the late William Hugh Moss and Shirley Lorraine Hughes Holt.
Becky was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Graham. She was a graduate of Graham High School, class of ’59 where she was voted “Most Courteous” in her class. She attended Watts School of Nursing, Breadloaf Bible College and was a regular attendee of the Senior Activities at the Kernodle Center. Becky was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Tod David Gilliam (Tammy), Laura Ellen Decker (Wayne) and Philip Leon Gilliam; grandchildren, Nick Gilliam, Chelsea Gilliam, Westley Decker (Jewell), Geoffrey Decker (Julianne), Philip Gilliam (Beth) and Natalie Gilliam; great grandchildren, Enzo, Ezra, Weston and Rhys Decker and sisters, Janice Moore (Terrell) and Kay Kimball (Wade).
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Chris Howe.
The family has requested no flowers, but instead, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Allied Churches of Alamance County, 206 N. Fisher St., Burlington, NC 27217 or to the charity of your choice.
