Renate C. Espinosa

Renate C. Espinosa, 84, of Graham, NC, passed away peacefully in 2025. She was born in 1941 to Frieda and Alfred Gartzke and lived a life devoted to her family, her heritage, and her work.

She is survived by her daughters, Carmen and Manuela Espinosa; her grandchildren, Daniel and Elena Espinosa; and her sister, Margrit Roelling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Espinosa; her daughter, Ines Espinosa (April 2025); her brother, Wolfgang Gartzke; and her parents.

Renate worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in Germany and, together with her husband, owned and operated Castillo Fabrics, a textile business they built with pride.

A service of remembrance to honor Renate’s life will be held at 4 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
