Richard Eller, Sr.

Burlington, NC Richard Lee Eller, Sr., age 81, of Crissman Avenue went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of the late Myrtle Hobbs Eller. Richard retired after 25 years with Associated Transport. He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving in the European Theatre and a lifetime member of The American Legion Post in Haw River. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Richard "Rick" Lee Eller, Jr. and his wife, Sherri of Burlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Draughn and her husband, Carlous of Asheboro, Shirley Price and her husband, Charles of Burlington; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Lee W. and Carrie Williams Eller; sister, Wanda Eller Smith. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rick Eller and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the 82nd Airborne Division .
