Richard Nichols Hall

Richard Nichols Hall, 82, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026 at the Oaks of Alamance. He was born in Orange County on October 17, 1943 to the late Berg Hall and Daisy West Cook and was the husband of the late Virginia Lee Shearin Hall.

Richard was employed with Pete Wall Plumbing for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, NASCAR and watching Christmas movies. However, one of his favorite pastimes was simply sitting on his porch with a coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

Survivors include his brother, Timmy Hall (Cindy); sister, Dale Goins (Jay); sisters-in-law, Bonnie Gerner, Linda Heyworth (Butch), Sue McBride (Sammy); brother-in-law, Eugene Shearin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; a brother, Roy Rogers Hall and his canine companion, “Gizmo”.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-12:30 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Authoracare Hospice, 914 Chapel Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
