Robert Waugh

Burlington, NC Robert Bobby Elmore Waugh, age 84, of 304 Tyndall Drive went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Jesse G. and Lillie Straughn Waugh. Robert was the owner and operator of Waugh Motor Company for 13 years in Gibsonville. He was a veteran serving as a sergeant with US Army Air Corp during WW II. He was an engine mechanic in charge of maintaining the engines for Bombers and Fighter Planes during the war. Robert shared many happy hours with his wife of 38 years, camping, fishing, watching Nascar races and baseball games. Survivors include his wife, Florence Hartman Waugh of the home; daughter, Barbara Ann Waugh Walker of Hurt, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Clyde Brady of Burlington. He is preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will held on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
