Ronald "Ronnie" Earl Rudd

Burlington – Ronald “Ronnie” Earl Rudd, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was the son of the late Earl Scott and Maggie Loreaner Massey Rudd. He was the husband of 49 years to Marcia Mae Hill Rudd who survives.

Ronnie retired from the NC DOT after 30 years. He attended Moons Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Providence. Ronnie was a supporter of Burlington Minor League baseball through the years and traveling with his wife to major league games following his favorite team the Cincinnati Reds. He met many major leaguers who had their start in the minors. He was the family historian and helped many people with their genealogy research and ancestry. Ronnie loved traveling with wife, online auctions, blue grass music and John Wayne. He will be greatly missed by his family and community.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Marcia Hill Rudd of the home; his aunt, Ella Marie Smith of Burlington and numerous cousins; his canine companion, “Annie”.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Ronnie will be held at 2:00PM Monday, March 9, 2026 at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Jimmy Gray and Elder Mark Terry with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary and other times at the home.
