Rosa Thomas Pennington

Rosa Lee Thomas Pennington, 75, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her residence. She was born in Durham County on September 27, 1946 to the late Robert Lee and Rachel Carver Thomas.

Rosa was an entrepreneur working in Real Estate for many years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, interior design and gardening. She was a cancer survivor, which compelled her to encourage and mentor other women dealing with similar experiences.  Rosa loved spending time with her family and her canine companion, “Carnina”. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and was a loving and supportive mother who never missed family events. She was witty, classy and simply put, the “proper southern lady”.

Survivors include her son, Wes Pennington and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Caroline, Hannah, Nathan (US Navy), Luke and Nicholas; brother, Dan Thomas; sisters, Dale McVey, Joyce Covington and Mary Jane Swing and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and John Pennington.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ron Harris with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
