Roy Kernodle

Elon STALEY KERNODLE Roy Staley Kernodle, age 87 of 3540 North NC 87, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 60 years to Eunice Saunders Kernodle and son of the late Roy Watson and Sallie Jones Kernodle. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Christian Church and served on the cemetery committee for over 50 years. Staley retired from Container Corp. of America in Greensboro and enjoyed gardening following his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Saunders Kernodle of the home; daughter, Nancy Emogene Kernodle of Elon; son, Eric Watson Kernodle of Elon; sisters, Laura Jane K. McPherson of Elon and Nancy K. Sain of Burlington; brothers William "Bill" Kernodle of Salisbury and Wayne Kernodle of Elon and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Friday, October 26, 2012 at Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Mr. Kernodle will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
