Mr. Samuel Lloyd Gann, age 83, of 1332 Dogwood St., passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several weeks of failing health. Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Samuel Franklin Gann and Emma Case Gann and was married for over 25 years to Mrs. Betty King Gann, who survives. Mr. Gann was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the Signal Corps. He was a retired salesman and was the owner and operator of Lloyd's Clock Repair. Lloyd was a longtime member of Ossipee Baptist Church, where he was an ordained Deacon and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mr. Gann is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Debbie Starling and her husband, Michael, of Lexington and Tammy Jarrell and her husband, Tim, of Greensboro; a son, Kevin Gann and his wife, Heather, of Reidsville; two step daughters, Jeannie Contri of Austin, TX and Diane Paschal and her husband, Ray, of Burlington; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Holder of Greensboro and Lena Priddy of Lawsonville, NC; a brother, Willie Gann of Stoneville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sadie Tucker and Gracie Gann. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, July 4, 2011 at Ossipee Baptist Church by Pastor Jason Wilkerson. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 3-5 Sunday afternoon and other times at the residence.
