Mrs. Sandra Kay Dawson Causey, age 69, of Burlington, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of William Staley Dawson, who survives and the late Ollie Smith Dawson and was married for almost 50 years to John Michael “Mike” Causey, who survives. Kay dedicated part of her life to her work at Fidelity Bank in Gibsonville, NC, where she was known for her kindness, dedication and the same thoughtful spirit she brought to everything she did.
She had a remarkable gift for making time for people. No matter how busy life became, Kay always paused to listen, to care and to offer kindness in ways both big and small. Whether through a warm conversation, a reassuring smile, or simply being there when it mattered most, she made a lasting difference in the lives of those around her.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her father, William; two sisters, Pat Hayes and Darlene Light; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Ashely Causey Waller; her mother, Ollie; and her in-laws, John and Sarah Causey.
A Celebration of Kay’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Andrews. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Kay’s kindness was constant and genuine, and her compassion touched more hearts than can be counted. She leaves behind a legacy of love, patience and grace that will continue to live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
