Sandra "Sandy" Faye Elkins

Sandra Faye Elkins, 72, was welcomed home, by her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, June 12, 2022 after a brief illness. She had resided at The Carillon in Greensboro for the last few years, but was born in Burlington and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Walter Williams High School. She was the daughter of Audrey Chandler Elkins and William B. Elkins who preceded her in death.  “Sandy” did not have any children, but she loved her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is survived by: her two sisters, Billie Jo (Don) Norman of Whitewater, WI and Patricia (Leroy) Carlton of Hamptonville, NC; her niece Dawn Evans of
Linwood, NC; her niece Leslie (Brad) Adams of Stoughton, WI and their four children (great nieces and nephews), and her nephew, Jonathan Norman of Louisville, CO. She is also survived by her cat “Tinkerbell” who loved to jump up on her walker and ride around.
Sandy was full of kindness and love and enjoyed sharing her artistic talents, flower arranging, and cooking with those around her. She had a deep faith, enjoyed listening to gospel music, and reading religious books.  A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by her brother-in-law, Dr. Don Norman.  The family will receive friends following the service.
