Sara Faye Saunders Underwood, 83, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late George Aubrie Underwood and daughter of the late Leonard Eugene and Mary Ella Danieley Saunders.
She was a member of Lakeview Community Church and was retired from J. Spencer Love Hosiery after 25 years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Underwood-Lollis and husband Curt; sisters, Maggie Satterfield, Peggy Pickard, Barbara Thompson and husband Sam; brother, Bobby Saunders and wife Glenda; sister in law, Barbara Saunders; brother in law, Currie Lee Lassiter and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Annie C. Woody, Louise Baker and Bessie Lassiter; brothers, Leonard E. "Junior" Saunders, Jr. and Roy Saunders; sister in law, Betty Saunders; brother in law, Carl Woody.
Funeral services will be held at Lakeview Community Church on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 2:00p.m. with Rev. Gerald Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Union Ridge Church cemetery.
Mrs. Underwood will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to Lakeview Community Church where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45pm, prior to the funeral service.
