Selma Buckner Key Ellington, 86, of Westbrook Ave. passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at The Oaks. She was born in Caswell County to the late Calvin Thomas and Bertha Morton Buckner and was married to the late Horace Ellington. She was a former employee of Kimbers and Huey's Bar-B-Q and was a member of Powerline Church of the Nazarene. She is survived be her daughter, Nancy Rick McAdams of Gibsonville; sons, Dr. Jerry Linda Key of Trinity, Tony C. Martha Key of Denver, CO; stepdaughter, Susan Kaye Ellington of Burlington; stepsons, Darrell Ellington, Gary Michael Ellington and Larry Phillip Ellington; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Tingen of Roxboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters and three brothers. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Tim Taylor and Dr. Jerry Key with entombment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the daughter's home, 535 W. Main St., Gibsonville. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to all the staff at The Oaks and at Community Home Care and Hospice for the special tender loving care that was shown to Mrs. Ellington.
