Seth Ryan Carter, 22, born on May 25, 2003 in Alamance County, left this world too soon on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, touching the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a beacon of joy, characterized by his fun-loving spirit and a knack for brightening even the dullest days with his infectious laughter and playful jokes. Seth was a friend you could always count on, someone who brought warmth and light into every gathering, particularly when surrounded by his cherished family and friends.
From a young age, Seth found joy in the great outdoors. He cherished moments spent in the mountains, where he relished fishing and embracing nature’s beauty. His hobbies extended beyond the beautiful landscapes; he had a passion for BMW cars that often led him to work on them with enthusiasm, as well as a love for traveling that allowed him to explore new horizons and create memories to last a lifetime.
He is mourned deeply by his loving family, his father, Ben Edwin Carter and his mother, Stacy Anne Potter. He is also survived by his adoring siblings, Samantha Parrish and her husband Corey, and Brooke Edens and her husband Bruce; his nieces and nephews that he adored, Cooper, Maverick, Charlotte and Hudson Parrish, Bennett and Bobby Edens; his paternal grandmother, Cheryl Reed and her husband Vic; paternal grandfather, Larry Peoples and his wife Karen; aunts and uncles, Walter Potter and his wife Sophia, Vickie Potter-Jarrett and her husband Gary, Michele Potter, Barbara Cheek and her husband Michael, Andy Carter, Patrick Peoples and Travis Peoples; and numerous cousins and friends. Each family member and friend carry the weight of his absence, but they also hold close the countless moments filled with laughter and the love that they have for Seth.
Seth has now reunited with his maternal grandparents, Walter and Theresa Moehring Potter, his paternal grandfather, Lewis Carter and a uncle, Jody Freshwater.
In his brief yet impactful life, Seth created lasting memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those lucky enough to know him. His light will continue to shine through the stories shared among family and friends, where he will always be remembered not just for his joyous spirit, but for the love he cultivated in every connection he made. The world has lost a radiant soul, and he will be missed profoundly.
