Shannon Lea Butner Peters

Shannon Lea Butner Peters, 61, passed away on May 8, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her and a life marked by creativity, determination, and faith.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Sam; her children Amythyst, Kandace, Jerimiah, Bryant, Dakhota, and Amanda; her grandchildren Jadynn, Ashlyn, Kayden, Knightley, Rivers, Carter, Ivy, Henley, Isaiah, Laken, Naomi, and Evelyn; along with her sister Beth and brother Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Sue Butner.

She was widely known for her creativity, especially through her floral design work. She had a unique ability to turn ordinary things into something beautiful, creating arrangements that were both striking and thoughtful. Her creativity also showed up in the way she cooked, baked, and cared for family gatherings, always finding ways to make moments feel special.

She loved spending time fishing with Sam and visiting the family cabin in upstate New York. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs.

Her faith in Jesus was important to her, and she cared deeply about the people around her and their relationship with God. Shannon was deeply loyal to her faith and loved Jesus. She was known for being a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a loyal friend to many.

A celebration of life will be held at Lowe Funeral Home on Friday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a private graveside service. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Because of Shannon's love for flowers and her work as a floral designer, the family welcomes floral arrangements as a way to honor her life.
