Our Life’s Blessing Sharon Markell Davis McDonald, was born September 1, 1953, in Louisburg, NC, to the late Arthur Davis and Maggie Louis Kinton.
Mrs. Mac was a Godly Woman, was a caring soul that filled the room with Light. But, she never took no Mess.
Her blessed legacy consists of being a very active CNA since 1987, in the states of Massachusetts, Texas and North Carolina. In the time of living in Massachusetts, along with her late Husband Ronnie McDonald, took the roll of being excellent Parents and impacting the lives of many wonderful Foster Children in their Home on Chesterfield Avenue in Springfield, MA. Mrs. Mac’s Soul Food making and hosting Huge Cookouts were her specialty. Specialty to the point where her and her husband’s Cookout in July 2003 landed in the New England Newspaper because the Mayor of Springfield and Governor of Massachusetts both attended (Fun Fact). In her later years in Texas/North Carolina she became the loving Caregiver for her Late Husband, Ronnie McDonald, and stood by his side at his passing in August, 2018. In return she was blessed with wonderful life and taken care of by her loving family.
Mrs Mac is survived by her Children; Deron McDonald, Beasley, TX, Jammie McDonald, Burlington, NC, Christopher Cruz, Ridgley, WV, Melissa and Andrew McDonald, Springfield, MA; Eleven Grandchildren; Brother; David Dunston, Springfield, MA, Sister-Cousins; Gwen Sherrill, Durham, NC and Dr. Paige Shearin Farrington, Greensboro, NC; and a multiple generations of cousins, nieces and nephews (Decendents of the Johnsons, The Browns, The Warrens) and Best Friends She Worked With.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie McDonald; her son, Edgar Soto; her father, Arthur Davis; her mother Maggie Louise Kinton.
Sharon was a Woman of God who blessed all of our lives she touched and took care of. A Mother, Wife, Auntie, Sister, Cousin and our Best Friend
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dorothy Warren. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
