Sherry Haith Simmons

Sherry Haith Simmons, 69, of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2025. She was born in Chatham County to the late Allen Junior and Ruth Lindley Haith, and was married to the late Kenneth Gary Simmons.

Sherry retired from ARMC as an RN after 37 years, working most of her career in the Operating Room. She attended Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church and volunteered at Burlington Christian Academy. Sherry also enjoyed taking various Senior Adult classes offered by Elon University. She enjoyed traveling out west and to the mountains, with her family and friends. Sherry was known for her talents in baking, sewing and anything relating to crafts. Sherry was happiest being a grandmother to her granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Simmons Lane and husband, Josh of Elon; her granddaughters, Aubrey Kennedy Lane and Addison Mae Lane and soon to be granddaughter, Abigail Ruth Lane; her sisters, Connie Radar of Snow Camp and Patty Glass of Asheboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson, Weston Lawrence Lane and her parents.

A service to celebrate Sherry’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday December 3, 2025 at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Paul Traywick. The burial will follow at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will have a reception for friends and family following the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
