Sherry Moseley Snead, a remarkable woman whose warmth and dedication touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 21, 1950, Sherry lived a life rich with love, creativity, and unyielding spirit.
Sherry earned her degree in Computer Science and Accounting, a testament to her keen intellect and determination. She built a distinguished career working in accounting at Burlington Industries and later at ITG, where her precision and dedication were greatly admired by colleagues.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sherry was a woman of many gifts and passions. She was exceedingly talented at crafts, cooking, and baking, often creating beautiful and delicious expressions of her love for family and friends. Her home was always a warm gathering place, and she was known as the social planner of her family, tirelessly organizing gatherings that brought everyone together in laughter and joy.
Sherry’s love of cats and her passion for travel were defining aspects of her personality. Among her proudest accomplishments was a daring cross-country trip during which her and Mike drove 10,000 miles in a little less than seven weeks—an adventure that showcased her adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Michael Snead, who stood by her side through every chapter. She is also survived by her sisters; Vanessa Prince Freeman and Jane Faucette, children; Shelia Price, Eddie Snead and Robert Snead (Rachel), grandchildren; Daniel Alek Quakenbush, Karmen Gregory (Austin), Aaron Snead (Megan) and Ryan Snead, great grandchildren; Brynlee, Carter Rae, Hudson and Greyson. Sherry’s life was also enriched by steadfast lifelong friends, including Wadene Wagoner and Lorraine Agnew, who shared countless cherished moments with her.
She is preceded in death by her son; Shawn Quakenbush, parents; Wade Odell Moseley and Leathie Golden Moseley, siblings; Mary Delma "Doug" Hoy, Vivian Lee Wilkinson, and Sandy Grimmett.
A celebration of life is being planned for Sherry and will be announced once the date and time is decided. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Mike of Sherry.
