Shirley Morris

Shirley Rose Brown Morris,74, of 2111 Holland Ave passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Liberty Commons of Alamance. Mrs. Morris was born April 23, 1932 in Johnston county to the late Luther Patrick and Eula Gertrude Rose Brown. She was the wife of 56 years to the late James Pete Morris. Mrs. Morris was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Rose M. and her husband Dr. James Fleming of Elon; one son, James Curtis Morris and his wife April of Liberty; four grandchildren, Tanya Gooch, Tonya Tubbs, Brandon Morris, and Jordan Morris; one great-grandson, Braxton Tubbs; two sisters, Faye Wall of Burlington and Janice Coates of Clayton, NC; one brother, Kenneth Brown of Greensboro. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Chaplain Susan Kane. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday, January 26, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Liberty Commons and to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their care of Mrs. Morris during her illness.
