Shirley Reardon

Shirley Belante Reardon, 85, of Burlington, died at her home Monday, June 13, 2011. Shirley was born May 29, 1926, to the late Paul Belante and Marguerite Emma Bogart. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother totally dedicated to her family. Shirley was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters: Cindy Reardon and partner Jeff Crouchley, of Holly Springs; Eileen Cedzo and husband Dennis, of Fayetteville; Robin Reardon, of Burlington; and Erin Mairs, of Kure Beach. She is also survived by a son, John Reardon and wife Paula, of Burlington; grandchildren Brittney Coleman and husband Jonathan; Ryan Reardon; Ashley Cedzo; Katie Cedzo; Maggie Reardon; Emily Cedzo; Ethan Mairs; Sam Mairs and Sarah Mairs; and a great-grandson, Jackson Coleman. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daniel Reardon. Her last wish, which was to hold her great-grandson, was fulfilled. A Mass of Celebration will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington in July. Following the Mass, a committal service is planned at Wilmington National Cemetery.
