Shirley Talbert

BURLINGTON- Mrs. Shirley Reed Talbert, 65, of 2424 Orice St. died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at her home. She was born on May 5, 1942 in Haw River, N.C. to the late Donald and Eula Reed. She was the wife of the late Stacy B. Talbert. She was employed by the Alamance County School System working at E.M. Holt. Survivors include her son, Donald T. Talbert and his partner, Roy Chip Berryhill, Jr. of New York; a sister, Fran R. King and her husband David of Efland; a niece, Donna K. Rice and husband Shane; a great niece, Kaitlyn Marie Rice; and a trusting, loyal dog companion, Rusty. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Keith Spake. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
