Stella Garner Powers Phillips

Stella retired after 30 years with Glendale Hosiery in Siler City.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where she was the secretary of the Sunday School for over 35 years.  Stella enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and making chicken dumplings when someone passed away.

Stella is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Powers Hinshaw; a grandson, Anthony “Tony” Hinshaw and wife, Tonya; great grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Hinshaw, Patrick Evans Hinshaw and Sarah Louise Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; sisters, Swannie Garner, Ann Brady, Theo Baulding and Melvina Garner; brothers, Everette Garner, Walt Garner, William “Bill” Garner and Waldo Garner; and a son-in-law, Larry Lamar Hinshaw.

The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, April 17, 2023 at Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett, NC by Dr. Neal Jackson, the burial will be held in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service at the church.
